Cultural Competency for Oral Health Providers
Delta Dental of Minnesota

Delta Dental of Minnesota, serving North Dakota, believes in supporting our dental providers with the tools necessary to best treat their patients. Cultural competency is an important part of accessibility to health care. By understanding diverse values, beliefs and cultural behaviors, providers can offer customized care to best meet their patient’s cultural, social and linguistic needs.

Delta Dental of Minnesota, on the behalf of the North Dakota Department of Human Services, asks that Delta Dental of Minnesota network providers complete Cultural Competency Training. This training is being provided in order to comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended, 42 U.S.C. § 2000, et seq, and its implementing regulations, which prohibit discrimination on the basis of race, color, and national origin in programs that receive federal financial assistance.

The three-part training does not need to be completed in succession and offers Continuing Education Credits for dentists, dental hygienists, and dental assistants.
