Notice for North Dakota Providers

Delta Dental of Minnesota has been instructed by the North Dakota Department of Human Services to implement a Cultural Competency program in order to be in compliance with the Medicaid Managed Care Rule. The following language has been recommended as guidance.
At a minimum, cultural competence training for providers should include annual reminders that capture the following information:
- Compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended, 42 U.S.C. § 2000, et seq, which prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, and national origin in programs that receive federal financial assistance.
- Compliance in assisting members with accessing language services (providers may contact the MCO for assistance).
- Compliance in providing services in a culturally sensitive manner.
