Delta Dental of Minnesota Welcomes New Vice President of Dental Services

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn – Delta Dental of Minnesota is pleased to announce that Mary Johnson, D.D.S., has been named Vice President of Dental Services effective today, April 2, 2018. Dr. Johnson brings more than 30 years of dental experience, having most recently served for ten years as the National Dental Director at Principal Financial Group in Des Moines, IA.

Prior to joining Principal Financial Group, Dr. Johnson owned and operated a general practice dental office, Johnson Family Dentistry, in Iowa. During her 24 years of private practice, Dr. Johnson ran two office locations, one of which served patients from rural locations with mobility challenges, including people in nursing homes.

In her new role as Vice President Dental Services, Dr. Johnson will provide professional leadership, strategic direction, consultation, advice, and clinical decision-making for activities associated with dental policy development and implementation, utilization management, quality improvement plans, provider credentialing, provider practice ethics, and network recruitment and management

Dr. Johnson received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She completed her Bachelor of Science from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. She is a member the American Dental Association, a certified dental consultant with the AADC, NADP – DQA, Snomed and Code Workgroups, past Chairman and speaker for the NHCAA Dental Health Care Fraud Workgroup and the Pediatric Workgroup for the Dental Quality Alliance.
