Saint Paul-based Mental Health Resources receives $25,000 grant from Delta Dental of Minnesota to provide dental services for people with serious mental illness

Mental Health Resources, Inc. (MHR) recently received a $25,000 grant from Delta Dental of Minnesota to support its Dental Health Initiative. With this funding, MHR will be able to improve dental health for people with serious mental illness by providing dental education and access to dental care. MHR will also train dental partners on best practices for working with individuals with serious mental illness.

“MHR is appreciative of its partnership with Delta Dental of Minnesota, said Kathy Gregersen, executive director at MHR. “Delta Dental has a unique understanding of the importance of providing dental care for people with serious mental illnesses. This partnership allows increased access to broader levels of dental care which is essential for this population.”

Delta Dental of Minnesota focuses on choosing grant recipients that show innovative strategies to expand oral health access for Minnesota’s underserved populations; demonstrate significant opportunity to promote and expand preventive and education services; and show an ability to measure results.
