Delta Dental of Minnesota Highlights National Children’s Dental Health Month

MINNEAPOLIS (February, 4 2022) – Have your kids been in for a dental checkup lately? February is the perfect time to schedule a cleaning to celebrate National Children’s Dental Health Month!

Each year, the American Dental Association (ADA) sponsors the month-long celebration to raise awareness about the importance of oral health, and bring together dental providers, educators, parents, and children in these efforts. The ADA says developing good habits at an early age and scheduling regular dental visits can lead to a lifetime of healthy teeth and gums.

“Tooth decay is the most common childhood disease – even more common than asthma or allergies. Teaching children to take care of their teeth from a young age, sets them up for good oral health and overall health habits for life,” says Dr. Eileen Crespo, Vice President of Medical Services at Delta Dental of Minnesota.

Delta Dental of Minnesota is also highlighting the importance of oral health as it relates to overall health with an educational awareness campaign targeted to parents and caretakers. To do this, Delta Dental of Minnesota relies on its team of dental and medical experts, including Dr. Eileen Crespo, Vice President, Medical Services. Dr. Crespo, MD has been practicing pediatrician for 20 years and is currently a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). She also serves on the Board of Directors at Children’s Dental Services.
