Delta Dental of Minnesota Foundation Distributes Backpacks For Healthy Smiles Across Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS – To celebrate National Smile Month, Delta Dental of Minnesota Foundation is making sure children around the state have the resources they need to maintain a healthy smile. More than 7,500 backpacks containing oral health items including a toothbrush, fluoridated toothpaste, timer, water bottle, and an oral health educational booklet, plus more have been donated for use by children this summer.

“At Delta Dental of Minnesota, we believe that everyone deserves a healthy smile,” said Joe Lally, Executive Director, Delta Dental of Minnesota Foundation. “We’re proud to be a part of developing strong lifelong oral health habits in thousands of kids across the state and promote healthier lives.”

Oral Health backpacks have been received by Children’s Dental Services, Community Dental Care, Jeremiah Program, United Way of Northeastern Minnesota, and Just Kids Dental. Locations range from the Twin Cities, Rochester, and north to Two Harbors and Chisholm, Minnesota.

The backpack donations go a long way in supporting one of the key messages for great oral health during National Smile Month, strong oral health routines throughout life. It also continues the vision of Delta Dental of Minnesota which aims to partner to advance health and community well-being by improving access, quality, and innovation.
