CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

POSITION SUMMARY

The primary responsibility is to provide general accounting and reporting functions within stated deadlines for all Delta Dental of Minnesota and affiliates including Delta Dental of Nebraska. This position works closely and is the liason with the DeCare Dental Finance staff to ensure the integrity of the Company’s  financial results. Direct responsibility for implementing and maintaining the appropriate controls of the Company’s financial statements including internal and external financial reporting and analysis, tax and other financial regulatory filings, internal and external financial audits, financial budget process, cost accounting, cash management, commissions and accounts payable.  Establishes and monitors the operating performance goals to ensure that the DeCare Dental customer service metrics are as agreed to and reported timely to management and Board of Directors. Conducts measurement and benchmarking of financial trends and informs management and the Board of Directors of potential issues. 

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Requires a BS/BA in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
  • CPA , MBA in Finance, Business Administration or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, business analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic and tactical planning within a health insurance environment
  • 4-8 years of public accounting experience preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years in the health care industry
